I joined Pacific Life to lead data science projects in areas of optimization, forecasting; operations, customer service, call center since June 2023.

I joined Thomasnet to work on alternative and buyer intent data since April 2021.

I developed a staff scheduling optimization model to respond COVID19 at Kroger in March 2020.

I taught mathematical modelings at Kroger/84.51 in June 2020.

I am selected to build core algorithm for the Cincinnati Public School Bus Routing and Bell Time Optimization problem in Sep 2019.

Senior Operations Research/Data Scientist

I am an OR/Data Scientist with 10+ years experience in core data modeling and algorithm design. I have been under the tutelage of Dr. Xinhui Zhang, three-time INFORMS Franz Edelman Awards finalist(The Nobel Prize of OR and Analytics), founder/head of retail supply chain and operations research at Alibaba, since 2011.

Research Interests

My research is in the areas of optimization and machine learning, with applications in Retail, Higher Education, and Public Policy. My current focus is to apply optimization and machine learning algorithms to real world problems involving large datasets.

I had the pleasure to partner with Wright State University to optimize their First-Year Scholarships; Kroger with their promotion planning, staff scheduling, routing, and inventory control projects. One of work I participated was selected as an INFORMS Edelman award finalist; and HappyDogsNYC to optimize their weekly staff scheduling (open source) as pro bono work.

With the utmost pleasure, I am selected to help the City of Cincinnati to redesign their public school bus routing and bell time using optimization modeling. See Code.

Life

I race 5K and half-marathon.

Music: I play Erhu and violin. Picking up cello since March 2020. My favorite composer is Tchaikovsky and favorite song is Waltz No.2 from Shostakovich.

I use HHKB 2 pro HHKB Pro Hybrid and IBM model M keyboard.
